Fall Fun!

October and November have been busy months and have flown by! I can't believe we are getting ready for Thanksgiving! Here are some pictures to share with you what we have been up to this fall so far!

The Pumpkin Patch

We went to Old Baker's Farm to the pumpkin patch. Grandmother and Mema joined us which was so much help! The girls had a great time. It was a WARM October Saturday but was much better than last year when we froze! Lyla picked out her white "Cinderella" pumpkin, and Lily got one that was just her size! Lola even found her a nice small green pumpkin. The girls loved the hayride to the pumpkin patch! We had a great time!

Halloween Party at Dance

Lyla is taking dance this year and is loving it! During the October parent observation time, the girls dressed up and performed for us. Of course, my little Lyla doesn't do very well when we watch...she must get stage fright?? When I peek through the window on other days, I see MUCH, MUCH more! Oh well...they are still precious dancing or not!

Roller Skating Party

A good friend of ours had their birthday party at the skating rink. Lyla was thrilled because lately that is all she has wanted...SKATES! Not sure where she got that idea? Well she was able to get her 1st try at skating...let's just say it is not as easy as it looks. She did try though. After about 15 minutes, it was time for the skates to come off! :) I think it wore Ashley and me out just as much, and we were just trying to help her with NO skates on! HA! It was fun though, and I captured some cute pictures. Not sure when she will put in to go again though...

Painting Pumpkins

Trunk or Treat and Halloween

This Halloween, Lyla was Cinderella, Lily was a "Pink" princess, and Lola was a black cat! The girls had a great time and loved ALL of the candy they received! We went to our church "Trunk or Treat" and then ended the night trick or treating in our neighborhood. I hope you had as much fun as we did!

HAPPY FALL!!

You know your baby girl is a BIG girl when...

at her 4 year old check-up she...
  • has to get her blood pressure checked!
  • has to do a hearing test by raising her hand when she hears the beep!
  • has to do a vision test by telling the names of the pictures!
  • has to have her finger pricked!
  • has to tee tee in a cup!
Today, I took my 4 year old "BIG" girl for her check-up and reality set in! She is growing up way too fast! It made me very sad in so many ways but happy too that she is doing so well and is such a happy, healthy girl! She weighed in at 35 lbs and was 40 in. tall. That is a big difference from the 4 pounder I brought home only 4 years ago! Lyla is doing so many things that it is hard to tell you all of them. The other day Ashley and I sat amazed as she began counting and continued past 10 all the way to 20 and higher! She knows all of her colors and shapes and can even write her name. She loves to "read" books by retelling them. It amazes me how she read them back to you almost word for word after hearing them only once. Can I say comprehension?? (Yes she has 2 teachers as parents! Poor girl!) Her favorite things to do these days is any type of art (coloring, painting, etc). She asks me everyday when we can do our next "activity"! She loves dolls and her big thing right now are the "Princesses"! Lyla is taking dance and takes Tumblebus. She also loves her computer class at school. She is able to dress herself (when she wants to) and hates having her hair brushed. She is very tender-headed! She loves going shopping and her favorite place to go is Wal-mart of course! She loves routines and is very particular about things. I wonder where she gets this from?? She is a daddy's girl and loves for him to put her to bed. She loves to stay up too late but we have made progress and she goes to bed without us in the room! (It just may take several trips putting her back to bed, but eventually she winds down.)

I am so proud of my "Big" girl and what a great role model she will be for her little sisters! Here are some pictures from her 4 year old Princess/Prince Birthday Party and her birthday week! What a fun time we had!
