4 Year Old Art!

Lyla drew this picture last week at school!  I loved it and was so proud of her.  I just had to take a picture to remember all the little things she can do!  She is getting to be a BIG girl!

Our First Lincoln Game!!!

My First Day of School

This school year, I will begin my 10th year of teaching!  Wow, does time fly!  I will be teaching first grade, and this year, once again, I have the pleasure of team teaching with a great friend.  She is the best teacher, and we learn from each other everyday!  Team teaching is wonderful and benefits the students greatly.  Two eyes are better than one, and it allows us to do a lot of small group teaching!  We have one large room with the two of us and 36 students.  Our room came together nicely, and I know it will be a great year!

Potty Update!

Ok...so Lily isn't quite ready for potty training!  She gets the idea and all and is beginning to HATE her wet diapers, but still can't quite know when she has to go soon enough.  So I guess we are "Boot Camp Drop Outs" for now!  She went to the potty about 1-2 times each day.  MANY times she would take off running dripping the WHOLE way and get to the potty and say, "Done, Mommy!!".  What a mess!  We spent so many hours in the bathroom, we called it the "Party Room"!  When one of us entered, we all did!  Here are some pictures of our t-shirt and panty days!

LOVES her princess panties!!!
We will continue to talk about the potty and go when she wants to but for now we will relax and let her do it when she is ready.  We will try again in a few months!!

It's POTTY time for Lily!!

Ready or not, we are going to try to see if Lily is ready for the potty!  We sure are hoping since we have TWO in diapers!!  Tomorrow is the BIG day!  We have been working up to this day for weeks reading lots and lots of potty books, talking about "big girl" panties, and how princesses go to the potty.  She seems ready and maybe with a few little bribes it might just work!  Since the potty training days of Lyla, a new book has been written about "Potty Training Boot Camp".  I have heard of successes with this plan, so it has made me hopeful.  However, I know there are many that have failed at the plan too...deep down I know it depends on if your child is ready or not!  We will see if Lily is!  PLEASE pray for us during this time.  I know it will be trying especially trying to succeed with 2 other little ones running around!  I am prepped and ready to go bright and early in the morning.
I hope my 2 year old little princess is ready.
She has a lot of bribes waiting on her - Dora and Ariel merchandise galore and CHOCOLATE!

We also have a lot of fun things to keep us busy so she will SIT on the potty!
(Books, coloring, stickers, Ipad, timer, and Princess wipes of course!)

We LOVE charts at our house!  Lily now has one too!  She will add a sticker to the chart each time she goes to the potty.  Hopefully her sticker columns will grow each day.
Dora and Boots are pulling for her!!
