It's a...

GIRL!
We went for our 20 week doctor's appointment today. Today was the big ultrasound checking the baby's growth and size. Everything is normal and perfect! We were able to find out that we are expecting another girl. Lyla will have a sister! The baby put on a show for us. At first she crossed her ankles. Then she waved and yawned for us! She was too cute! I will try to post an ultrasound picture soon.

BOO at the ZOO

Sunday evening our Sunday school class took all of the kids to BOO at the ZOO. We had so much fun. Lyla was able to wear her Halloween costume...she is a fairy. She got to ride the train or "choo choo" as she calls it, and she got to ride the carousel. Her most favorite part was getting candy. She couldn't believe they would just give her candy. Let me tell you...she wouldn't share that candy bag with anyone! :)

Pumpkin Patch

Saturday we were off! Lyla had to find the perfect pumpkin. We took her to Old Baker's Farm in Harpersville. We all had such a great time! Our friends the Freeman's went with us with their two boys and Lyla's grandmother and granddaddy joined us too! It was the first time to pumpkin patch for all of us. There were animals and a hayride that took us to a very muddy pumpkin patch. Of course Lyla wanted to pick up the largest pumpkins! When she realized they were too heavy she finally settled on one "just her size"!

Washing with Daddy

Lyla loves to clean! Imagine that! She will wash and wipe off whatever is in her way. One of her favorite things to help do is wash the car. Last Saturday she helped her daddy wash his truck. She loved every minute and by the end she was soaking wet! She didn't care though. It was tough getting her inside to change her clothes!

Leeds Homecoming Game

Lyla loves football games! Every Friday night she loves to go...her favorite part is the band. When the band stops playing, she says, "More!" Another favorite is seeing her friends at the game. Friday night was Leeds homecoming. We won! Go Greenwave! Here are a few pictures from the game last Friday. Lyla and I had matching shirts! :) You'll also see Lyla with her buddy Chance.

Football Season has arrived!

Football season is a crazy time at the Carlisle house! Between high school and college football...it takes up our whole weekend. We are a divided household with Lyla stuck in the middle. Ashley roots for Auburn and I pull for the Tide. One Saturday Lyla wears Alabama attire and the other one she wears Auburn. For this first Saturday, Ashley won out...Lyla dressed for Auburn. We had a fun night at our friend's house (The Spains). I was out-numbered! Everyone there except for me went for Auburn. We had a great time anyway and the kids looked absolutely adorable even though they were sporting the "wrong" colors!

Our "Big" News!!

I know...I haven't been posting in a while. For those of you who check my blog often, I am so sorry. I was pretty much under-the-weather for much of July! We are pregnant...yes, we are expecting our second child!! What a blessing!!! The "big" event will take place at the beginning of March if I make it that long. :) We are 10 weeks now...yay! The countdown is on because I have been so, so sick. I am not the one that loves pregnancy at all. I didn't have a good one last time and this one has not begun that way either. All I can think about is the precious baby that comes at the end...that keeps my spirits up.

I have already been in the hospital due to dehydration....I know the cycle has started! Ugh! But fortunately they have me now hooked to a pump that gives me medicine 24/7. What a huge blessing as I started teaching this week! I know Ashley also appreciates that I can at least walk and function a small amount around the house now. So please keep us in your prayers!! Oh, and if you are one that doesn't feel your best during pregnancy either, let me hear from you. It is always nice to hear that others have problems with this too!

Trip to the Georgia Aquarium

Wednesday we took a day trip to Atlanta to the aquarium. What fun it was! We took Lyla and her Grandmother and Granddaddy (Ashley's parents). Lyla loved it as did I! She loved getting a close look at the fish and really thought it was neat when she touched a sea anemone! She ended her day as we watched the 3D movie...it was her first "movie" experience!! I finally got her to wear her 3D glasses, and she was surprised as the fish swam right by her!

Touching the sea anenome!

She loved the statue of the mermaid.

Deepo the aquarium's mascot

At first she wanted to see him, but then when she found out he was "alive", that was a different story!

Lyla showing her daddy the fish.

Lyla thought it was so cool that her granddaddy was riding too!

Jellyfish!

Look at the fish!

Long day!!!!

Our Sunshine

Recently we visited the Botanical Gardens and had some pictures taken of us with Lyla. They turned out great even though Lyla really wasn't in the mood for pictures that day. Check out a slide show of our photo shoot! Click on the link below.

Can you believe it?

If you know me, you won't believe this! I ate a steak tonight, and I actually loved it. Ashley took me to the famous Shula's tonight to celebrate our 4th anniversary. It was quite exciting...we had the best time having an actual date night. Since I was at a famous steak house, I thought I would try a steak. I am glad I did now. :) Our actual anniversary was this past Thursday, but since we were at the beach with the youth, we celebrated tonight.

I love you, Ashley! Thank you for a wonderful four years!!

Our Beach Trip

We are back! Let me say....Lyla adores the beach. She loved it! She was not afraid of anything. We went this past week with our church youth group, and it was so much fun. The kids were great and so well-mannered. Lyla loved the pool, the sand, and the ocean! Here are some pictures for you to enjoy! We can't wait to take her back.

Have you ever tried the Nintendo Wii?

If not, let me tell you how fun it is! Ashley got one for Father's Day; however, it was really like a family gift that we could all enjoy. We were bowling last night, and it was like we were at the bowling alley! It is so fun. We were able to spend quality time together at home having fun but getting some exercise at the same time. You can't sit and play the Wii...you are moving and in action the whole time!! Our arms were even sore this morning! We also bought the Wii Fit to go with it and we can't wait...hopefully it will give me some very much needed exercise time that I can do while Lyla is sleeping! So....if you haven't tried it, I very much suggest it!

Happy Father's Day

I am truly blessed to have a wonderful husband. He is such a great father to Lyla. We have had a wonderful father's day just spending time together. Lyla began her day by waking up her daddy with hugs and kisses and of course a present just for daddy. We then had a normal Sunday going to church and being with friends. Today's sermon was wonderful, teaching us the true qualities of a father. A father is one who is a protector, provider, teacher, and most of all a friend. Thank you, Ashley for being such a great father figure to Lyla and a great husband to me! We love you!

Here are some pictures for you to enjoy from our day...

New to This!

Hello, all! I am making an effort to stay in touch since we are always accused of "not keeping in touch"! Hopefully this way we can keep in touch. Ashley and I are doing great. We are living in Leeds in which we are very happy. He is working at Leeds High School and is coaching baseball and football. I am working at Liberty Park Elementary teaching 1st grade. We are both less than 10 minutes from work. We have a beautiful daughter named Lyla Jane.

Lyla is 18 months old and is truly our miracle from above. She keeps us on our toes everyday. We are blessed to be part of a great church and have wonderful friends in the area. We couldn't ask for more! Lyla is so much fun these days and is doing new things everyday. I will use this blog to keep you in touch with our family and allow you to see Lyla as she grows. Enjoy!
